About Patricia Hall

Patricia Hall is an assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Western University, and a child and adolescent psychiatrist at the Children's Hospital (LHSC).

Dr. Hall created and implemented the first Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (CAP) Subspecialty Program at Western. The program at Western was one of the first program to be approved by the Royal College in Canada. Dr. Hall was the Program Director of this program from 2010- 2020. During her time as program Director she has lead the program through multiple successful internal reviews and recent external review. Under Dr. Hall's leadership, the Royal College recognized two leading practices and innovations within the CAP subspecialty program, in wellness and program assessment. Dr. Hall has been involved with the CAP Specialty Committee of the Royal College for 10 years and was a member of the CBME working group. Dr. Hall also participates in education nationally as a member of the Canadian Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Education Committee. Dr. Hall is passionate about postgraduate education and has been the recipient of the Schulich Award of Excellence in postgraduate education in 2014 and 2019. She has also been the recipient of several awards for excellence in postgraduate teaching in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. She has presented at the national level regarding CAP education. Dr. Hall has worked on several wait list initiatives and has been the coinvestigator on projects to improve efficiency and increase capacity in ambulatory programs and emergency mental health services. In 2020, Dr. Hall developed a clinic to improve access to urgent psychiatry consultations and decrease time spent in the emergency department. She also worked on expanding access to the Emergency Diversion Clinic. Presently Dr. Hall is the Chair of the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Western University and the Site Chief of Child and Adolescent Mental Health, Children's Hospital, London Health Sciences Centre.

Dr. Hall is honoured to work with children, youth and their families and advocates for evidence based, ethical, compassionate care.

Dr. Hall is also honoured to have received the 2022 Faculty of the Year Award for the Department of Psychiatry and the 2023 Schulich Faculty Mentorship Award.
