Abstract
Using a simple geometrical construction in k‐space and a ray‐tracing procedure, the overall nature of the phase conjugation process is examined. The usefulness of the k‐space formalism and the ray‐tracing procedure as instructional tools is demonstrated by analyzing various cases.
