About Paolo Tan

Tan earned his PhD in special education with an emphasis in mathematics education from Indiana University Bloomington. He has held faculty appointments at Johns Hopkins University, the University of Hawaii and the University of Tulsa. He has served as a public school middle-secondary mathematics teacher in culturally and linguistically diverse settings in Kansas City and Indianapolis for 10 years. His research focuses on advancing intersectional justice in and through mathematics education centering disabilities.
