About Pamela Joyner

Dr. Joyner is Interim Chair and Visiting Professor of Pharmacy Practice. She received her pharmacy degrees (BS and MS) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her Doctor of Education at North Carolina State University. Prior to joining the School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences Department at Campbell University, she served as Executive Associate Dean and Consultant to the Dean at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy where she provided leadership for professional initiatives including accreditation, student affairs, the curriculum, experiential education, continuing education, and the center for innovation in pharmacy simulation. She also had a major role in the planning and implementation of the school’s satellite campus in Asheville and collaborated with the school’s committee on rural health to develop the Rural Health Certificate Program. For much of her early career, she served as a pharmacy preceptor and had a clinical practice in internal medicine and pediatrics at the Wake Area Health Center and Wake Medical Center. Dr. Joyner’s research has focused on pharmacy education, rural pharmacy health, and global health education in pharmacy.
