About Pamela Jaffey

Dr. Jaffey is a pathologist who received her undergraduate degree in biology at Columbia University, and medical degree from New York Medical College.

While in medical school, she was elected into the national medical honor society, Alpha Omega Alpha. After medical school, she performed cancer research in Galveston, Texas as a recipient of a McLaughlin Research Fellowship Award. She then completed a residency in pathology at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, and a fellowship in neuropathology at the University of Chicago.

She joined the faculty in the Physician Assistant Department at Nova Southeastern University as an Associate Professor in 2000, and was voted Professor of the Year by the students in 2001 and 2004.

For the past 7 years, she has been primarily responsible for the Clinical Laborary Medicine series of courses, instructing students how to select and interpret laboratory tests which will enable them to diagnose a large variety of diseases. Her special interests include hematology and oncology, infectious disease, and neuropathology.

Dr. Jaffey has authored several published articles pertaining to these interests in various journals, including Archives of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, Cancer Research, Journal of Neuropathology and Experimental Neurology, American Journal of Clinical Pathology, Journal of Comparative Neurology, Southern Medical Journal, and Emergency Medicine.

Dr. Jaffey has a background in musical comedy, and enjoys utilizing these interests to make her lectures both informative and engaging.
