About Oscar T McKnight Ph.D.

As a graduate of both the University of Akron and Youngstown State University, Dr. McKnight is committed to life-long learning and research. In his doctorate program, Dr. McKnight’s concentration area was statistics and analysis. He also has a graduate degree specifically in Research and Evaluation. As such, Dr. McKnight is engaged deeply in independent study. Most of his research is proprietary and ranges from non-profit analysis to corporate forecasting.

Dr. McKnight has been a professional within the mental health field for over twenty-five years as both a practitioner and administrator. As an independent research consultant he has a history of directing program evaluations, service delivery assessments, and both economic development and community service audits. In addition, Dr. McKnight has directed and completed the marketing analysis and strategic plans for several public campaigns promoting mental health levies.

Dr. McKnight is currently the Director of Psychological Counseling and Health Services and Associate Dean for Student Affairs at Ashland University, a private comprehensive university in the mid-west. He also teaches as an Adjunct Associate Professor in the College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Business and Economics. Dr. McKnight’s focus is Consumer Behavior and Predictive Modeling, and Test and Measurement within the
Departments of Psychology; and, Marketing. He also has over 20 years of published research, presentations and involvement with all facets of higher education assessment; including: retention, admission, program evaluation, long-term strategic planning and university branding.

Although Dr. McKnight is active as a field investigator and concentrates primarily on proprietary research; he continues to contribute as a scholar; as exemplified by being honored with four “Best Paper” Awards, as well as the “Distinguished Paper” Award from the Marketing Management Association. In addition, Dr. McKnight received the ACPA “Outstanding Research Award” in higher education (American College Personnel Association)and three Mentor Awards: his first “Outstanding Professional Mentor” award was from the OCPA (Ohio College Personnel Association); his second was as the “University Mentor of the Year” staff award from Ashland University; and, his third Mentor Award was also from Ashland University, given in recognition of his “Academic Mentorship.”

Dr. McKnight has started several successful businesses in his career; for example, he is a founder and Chief Operating Officer of Scientific Legal Services, LLC. He also developed the Cognitive Career Profiler (CCP) program used by many private college/career specialists and high school guidance counselors. Likewise, Dr. McKnight developed an online mock career and graduate school interview system recognized as MIKE. Recently, Dr. McKnight introduced, OTIS and the RAINMAKER as a best-practice employee pre-screening service.
