PLEASE NOTE: This PPT slide deck accompanies a webinar by the same title (the link to which is also posted on this website) which was held in March 2013 in Columbus, OH. As professionals, we are faced with limited time in our work day to focus on the multiple aspects of the academic, career, and personal/social development of our students. Career development often falls last due to the pressing needs of academic and personal/social development. Integrating goal setting/career advising into existing curricula is the intent of Career Connections, a joint initiative among the Governor’s Office of Workforce Transformation, Board of Regents, and Ohio Department of Education. Career Connections will provide an outline from which programs can be built and the most up-to-date information available about this initiative is shared in this webinar. This session also reviews trends and tools in career advising that college and career access and success professionals as well as school counselors will find useful as they work with students in approaching all three of these important advising tiers.
