About Noah Sobe

Professor Sobe is a comparative education researcher and historian of education.  He teaches a range of courses in Loyola's Cultural and Educational Policy Studies Program and also serves as the Director of Loyola's Center for Comparative Education.  He is an active member of the American Educational Research Association (AERA), the Comparative Education Society of Europe (CESE), the US History of Education Society (HES), the International Standing Conference on the History of Education (ISCHE), and the World Council of Comparative Education Societies (WCCES).

In 2016-2017 Professor Sobe is serving as President-Elect of the Comparative and International Education Society (CIES) and will become CIES President in 2017-2018. He is also serving a term (2015-2018) on the Executive Committee of the International Standing Conference for the History of Education (ISCHE). In 2013 he served as the international convenor of the New Times for Curriculum thematic group at the World Council of Comparative Education Societies (WCCES) XV Congress (Buenos Aires, June 2013) and in 2014 and in 2015 served as co-Program Chair of AERA Division B.2. Decolonizing, Transnational, and Indigenous Inquiry.
