Watershed Modeling and Its Applications for Soil and Water Conservations and greenhouse gas emissions.
PVAMU (2022)
  • Nigus Demelash Melaku, Prairie View A&M University
Abstract
Advances in hydrologic models to understand watershed processes (physical, chemical, and biological) are crucial for stream flow, water quality, greenhouse gases emission predictions. The modification of models with improvements in the collection and analysis of hydrologic data, provide opportunities for significant innovations. This seminar will highlight the application of process-based models to evaluate the effect of soil and water conservation structures on stream flow and soil erosion. The seminar will also highlight the use of hydrologic models to estimate the greenhouse gas emission from agricultural fields. Besides, the impacts of winter storm Uri on pollutant emissions and power outages will be presented.
