About Nida Mahmood Ms

Nida Mahmood is currently working as an Independent Investment Law Consultant in Lahore, Pakistan. She was previously employed as a Research Associate at Research Society of International Law (RSIL), Pakistan, where she was enagaged to give her legal opinion on BITS and conduct capacity building sessions on international investment laws for the Punjab Board of Investment and Trade (PBIT). She was a lecturer in law and development at the University College Lahore and SKANS School of Accountancy, Lahore. She holds an LLM degree in Law and Development from the University of London and has won many educational awards for her outstanding academic performance. She was the head of the 'Human Rights Society' at the University College Lahore and has been very actively involved in the Lahore Bachao Tehreek (Save Lahore Movement) for the protection of trees which were being cut down in the name of development. She occasionally contributes articles to newspapers on the issues of environmental preservation in the light of law. She has made presentations on globalization, the TRIPs agreement and its impact on agriculture for the Pakistan Kissan Sangat annual meeting in Lahore. Nida combines her professional interests in law and human rights with her activism on environmental and development issues.
