About Nicholaus Brock

Nicholaus Brock '11, '12, MS, CCC-SLP earned his bachelor of science in speech-language pathology in 2011 and a master of science in speech-language pathology in 2012, both from University of the Pacific. He joined the Pacific faculty in 2016.

What he loves about Pacific is the collaborative and supportive environment for both students and faculty. He welcomes opportunities to collaborate with experts in the field of speech-language pathology and continuing to work with the professors who taught him as a graduate student. His goals are to expand Pacific's clinical education program at the Stockton Scottish Rite Childhood Language Disorders Center and help prepare students to meet the clinical expectations in their work settings. He loves working with students in one-on-one settings within the clinic, guiding and developing their clinical skills.

Professor Brock is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and the California Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Two of the individuals who have impacted his career are his clinical instructor Wendy Frush and Jill Duthie, PhD, CCC-SLP, associate professor of speech-language pathology. They encouraged him to think outside the box and develop new programs to best meet the needs of his clients. Their mentorship has led him to adopt a client-directed approach, which focuses on helping the client acquire practical and potentially life-changing skills.

His hobbies include running, hiking and camping. He is currently training for local full and half marathons with the goal of qualifying for the Boston Marathon. He also enjoys spending time at the beach skimboarding and observing marine life.
