About C. Nelson Rich

His research includes life history strategies and population dynamics of rare and unusual fern species (Winter grapefern, Limestone adder's-tongue, and Bulbous adder's-tongue). His current focus is on demographics, phenology, and responses to environmental parameters such as precipitation and temperature. Also, he is collaborating with other faculty to develop new projects that use molecular biology techniques to examine genetic variations within and between populations of the species being monitored in his current population studies.
