About Neil Desai, DO

Dr. Neil Desai, D.O., is a vascular surgeon and joined HCA Houston Healthcare helping found Gulf Coast Vascular in August of 2020. Dr. Desai received his Bachelors of Science in both Mathematics and Economics. He began his medical studies at Midwestern University, Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine earning his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Desai went on to complete his internship and residency in General Surgery at the University of Texas Medical School in Houston, TX. Dr. Desai completed his fellowship in vascular surgery with the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Greenville, SC.

Dr. Desai has participated in widespread research and has been invited to speak at various medical symposia and conferences. In addition, Dr. Desai is an active member of the American Medical Association, American College of Surgeons, Society of Vascular Surgeons, Southern Association for Vascular Surgery, and the Vascular and Endovascular Surgery Society.

Dr. Desai is known for using cutting-edge technology and minimally-invasive procedures to achieve the best possible outcomes for his patients and their families. Dr. Desai has a special interest in open and endovascular treatments for aortic disease, advanced vascular interventions for peripheral artery disease with limb salvage, and management of complex dialysis access. He says, "The vascular surgeon steps in at a critical time in a patient's life in treating complex medical conditions, but they must also help patients choose the best options in an informed manner." Dr. Desai treats each patient as he would his own family, focusing on communication and treatment options unique to each patient.
