About Negusse Fessehaye Kidane

Dr. Negusse F. Kidane is an Assistant Professor and Research Scientist of Animal Sciences in the Department of Agriculture, Nutrition and Human Ecology. Currently he is working on research projects aiming at determining the residual feed intake (RFI) of goats using GrowSafe Computerized Feeding System. Dr. Kidane' s work focuses on improving the feed utilization efficiency of food producing animals by monitoring daily feed intake, daily feeding behavior and daily growth rate. In addition Dr. Kidane is planning a research projects that reduces environmental footprint of livestock, especially curtailing methane emission from ruminants by using novel feed ingredients that can be incorporated in livestock diets. Dr. Kidane also teaches a number of Animal Science courses, including Animal Production and Marketing, Poultry Sciences, Breeding and Genetics, Dairy Science, Poultry Technology and Marketing. He also directs laboratory sessions for most of the course he teaches.
