About Dr Neal Lake

Dr Neal Lake BA(Civil)Hons, BEng(Civil)Hons, PhD(QUT), CPEng(Civil and Structural), RPEQ(Civil and Structural)
With over 20 years’ experience in multi discipline engineering environments including government, consultancy and contractor organisations, Neal has gained a wide variety of experience in the areas of civil infrastructure evaluation and design, heavy industrial infrastructure evaluation, design and retrofit, structural testing and measurement, research and commercialisation.  In 2002 Neal gained his PhD in the field of bridge assessment, and has extensive experience in instrumentation, data acquisition and finite element analysis.   In 2012 Neal turned his attention to training the next generations of engineers as a Senior Lecturer in Engineering at Southern Cross University. Neal’s discipline research focuses on the fields of waste products in engineering materials and closing the loop in energy production. Though his teaching and industry experience he also focuses his research on high performance engineering teams and how to impart the necessary skills to engineering students.
