About Dr Nathanael Reinertsen

Dr Nathanael Reinertsen is a former high school English teacher, who worked for several years at the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) as a Research Fellow, Assessment and Psychometric Research. His team was involved in developing reading and writing assessments for state, national and international clients. In addition to his role as a test developer, he trained markers and supervised ACER marking operations in Perth, Western Australia, and has also trained markers internationally. He has given seminars and webinars on assessment products, and was one of the subject-matter experts for the ACER Institute’s Graduate Certificate of Education (Assessment of Student Learning). His research interests include the automated scoring of writing, and the professional development benefits of large-scale marking.
