About Nancy George

I have been a librarian at Salem State University in Salem, Massachusetts, since 1996. At the University, I serve as the subject specialist for the School of Nursing and Electronic Resources Librarian. Prior to arriving at Salem State University, I worked in libraries at Cornell University and Indiana University-Bloomington. I hold a MLS and BM from Indiana University-Bloomington, IN.

Active since 1996 in the Association of College and Research Libraries/New England Chapter (ACRL/NEC), I have served as chair of the New England Library Instruction Group (NELIG), chair and co-chair of the Information Technology Interest Group (ITIG), and President of the organization. In addition, I am active within the American Library Association, serving on committees and boards in NMRT, LITA, and RUSA. I also served as President of the Northeast Massachusetts Regional Library System, the Northeast Consortium of Health Information, been active on committees in the MBLC and NOBLE, serve as a Trustee on the Massachusetts Board of Higher Education/Massachusetts Teacher Association Health and Welfare Trust, and hold leadership positions within the University's faculty/librarian union, the Massachusetts State College Association.
