About Fiona Fui-Hoon Nah

Dr. Fiona Fui-Hoon Nah is a Full Professor of Business & Information Technology (BIT). She holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration, with specialization in Management Information Systems and a minor in Cognitive and Educational Psychology, from University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. She received her M.S. and B.S. (Honors) degrees in Computer & Information Sciences from the School of Computing, National University of Singapore. Previously, she served on the faculty of two Big Ten Universities - University of Nebraska-Lincoln and Purdue University.

Dr. Nah's teaching interests include strategic management of technological innovation, electronic and mobile commerce, human-computer interaction, and empirical research methods.

Dr. Nah's research interests include applications of virtual worlds and augmented reality in business, human-computer interaction, applications of technology in education, and electronic, mobile and ubiquitous commerce.

Dr. Nah is a recipient of various research and teaching awards at her previous institution, i.e., before joining Missouri University of Science and Technology in August 2012. She is a recipient of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Business Administration Distinguished Teaching Award (2001), Distinguished Research Award (2006), and Best Paper Award (2012). She is also a recipient of the Shuler-Kistiakowsky Faculty Award for Outstanding Teaching, Research and Outreach (2007) at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

She is a co-founder of the Association for Information Systems (AIS) Special Interest Group on Human-Computer Interaction (SIGHCI) of which she is now serving on the Advisory Board. She received an Outstanding Service Award (2005) and a Special Service Award (2011) for her service and contributions to AIS SIGHCI.

She has been ranked #6 (based on straight rank) in the list of most prolific authors in human-computer interaction research in information systems based on journal publications from 1990-2007, according to Zhang, Galletta, Li, and Sun (2010) that is available at http://melody.syr.edu/pzhang/publications/TU_07_Zhang_etal_HCI.pdf

Dr. Nah is a senior editor for Journal of the Association for Information Systems (JAIS) and AIS Transactions on Human-Computer Interaction (THCI). She is an associate editor for International Journal of Human-Computer Studies (IJHCS), Information and Management (I&M), Journal of Global Information Management (JGIM), and Journal of Electronic Commerce Research (JECR). In addition, she serves on the editorial review board for several other journals including International Journal of Human-Computer Interaction (IJHCI), Information Resources Management Journal (IRMJ), and Journal of Database Management (JDM).
