Michael Organ (b.1956) retired in 2020. Prior to this he was Manager - Repository Services, University Library, University of Wollongong and former University Archivist. He completed an honours degree in geology at the University of Wollongong in 1985 and a postgraduate Diploma in Archives Administration at UNSW in 1986. Michael was appointed Archivist at the University of Wollongong in 1995. Between 2002-2004 he was the Australian Greens Federal Member for Cunningham. Michael's research interests are in the area of film studies, archival and library sciences, J.R.R. Tolkien, and Australian history.
