Dr Mohd Nazri Abdul Rahman holds the title as an Expert Lecturer (Pensyarah Cemerlang) at the Unit Of Assessments and Examinations, Institute Of Teacher Education Tuanku Bainun Campus, Penang. He holds a Ph.D in Curriculum Design and Development from the University of Malaya.
Dr Mohd Nazri Abdul Rahman, actively researches and publishes in the areas of homeschooling, indigenous people (Orang Asli) and teaching and learning innovation. He is especially known for his homeschooling model for Orang Asli children which has reframed current ways of teaching Orang Asli children by tapping into the advantages of alternative education in Malaysia. His homeschooling Orang Asli research is the first of its kind in Malaysia.
His works have been published in Malaysian and International journals including Malaysian Online Journal of Educational Tehnology (MOJET), Jurnal Kurikulum dan Pengajaran Asia Pasifik and The Life Science Journal. He has also published books on Pendidikan Alternatif Homeschooling, Design and Developmental Research: An Emergent Trend in Educational Research and Kurikulum: Satu Disiplin yang Dinamik.
Dr. Mohd Nazri has received several recognitions for his teaching and research including awards such as University of Malaya Faculty of Education Excellent Post Graduate Student 2014; Excellent Thesis 2014; and honorarium for finishing his Ph.D in less than three years. He has also won the Gold Medal Award 2011 at the National Invention & Innovation Institut Pendidikan Guru Malaysia; Anugerah Guru Inovatif Kebangsaan 2003, 2004 and 2006 for his teaching and learning projects. He also won Anugerah Pensyarah Inovatif State Level for three consecutive years in 2009, 2010 and 2011.
He is the honorary Secretary of Majlis Guru Cemerlang Malaysia (Sabah) from 2009 until 2011; President of Ph.D Society (Education) University Malaya; Secretary of the Persatuan Kurikulum Malaysia (PerKUM) and active in NGO such as Sabah Environment Education Network (SEEN), Sepilok Enviroment Education Network (TEEN) and Sekolah Dalam Hospital (Yayasan Nurul Yaqen).

He has a wide experience in teaching and training in the area of Economics, curriculum, pedagogy and student and learning environment (murid & alam belajar). He also serves as a reviewer for Malaysian Online Journal of Educational Technology (MOJET), Jurnal Kurikulum dan Pengajaran Asia Pasifik (JuKu) and Online Journal of Islamic Education (O-jIE). He is a Member of Majlis Guru Cemerlang Malaysia. He is currently involved in various trans-disciplinary national collaborative research projects including a high impact longitudinal research (PRISMA : Learning Community) and Knowledge Transfer Programme with FELDA Science Learning Centre and Teacher Training Institution, as well as homeshooling Research.
