About Mohammed Ali

Dr. Mohammed Ali is an Associate Professor in the Department of Technology at the University of Texas at Tyler and the Program Coordinator at the Longview University Center in Longview, Texas. He is also affiliated with the U.S. Navy and Air Force as a Fellow Research Scientist and a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Scholarship Reviewer.

Dr. Ali's professional affiliations include serving as an evaluator for ATMAE-accredited BS/MS/PhD programs, Past President of the ATMAE Micro and Nanotechnology Division, ATMAE Certified Manufacturing Specialist Exam Commissioner, Past Chair of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers Mississippi Section, Fellow of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, and panelist for both the U.S. National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship and the Department of Defense SMART Scholarship. He is ATMAE’s Certified Senior Manufacturing Specialist and Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt license holder.

Dr. Ali also holds editorial positions, serving as Associate Editor and Editorial Board Member for the Journal of Technology Management and Applied Engineering, the ASME Early Career Technical Journal, Advances in Mechanical Engineering, the Journal of Manufacturing and Design Science, and the Journal of Management and Engineering Integration.

Throughout his career, Dr. Ali has received numerous awards, including the EPT’s Paul T Hiser Exemplary Publication Award in 2022, the Outstanding Faculty Research Award (2019) from The University of Texas at Tyler, the Best Faculty Award (2012) from Jackson State University, Mississippi, the ATMAE Faculty Excellence Award (2011), and the Epsilon Pi Tau Scholarship (2018).

Dr. Ali's research interests focus on bioengineered submicron and nanoparticle spectrometry, applications in the manufacturing of pulmonary drug delivery devices, aerosol electrostatics, PLC/CIM and additive manufacturing, and the simulation of nano- and submicron-particle flow and deposition in human and animal lungs.
