About Minh Dao

I am currently teaching in the Department of Economics at Eastern Illinois University which I joined in August 1987. I enjoy what I am doing very much, which entails interacting with students at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. I also undertake various research projects within my fields of specialization which are Public Finance, Economic Development, and Econometrics.

I came to the United States in May of 1975 right at the end of the Vietnam War. I have since lived pretty much in the Midwestern States, ranging from Oklahoma, to Nebraska to Illinois.

I love to play tennis, both singles and doubles. You may say that I am an avid tennis player. In spite of the hot and humid weather in summer, I have been playing on the University courts. And in the wintertime, I and the guys have been carpooling to Champaign to play indoors at the Champaign park district tennis facility. I also enjoy listening to Vietnamese and classical music. My favorite artists are Vu Thanh An, Pham Duy, Trinh Cong Son, Tran Thien Thanh, and Ngo Thuy Mien while I love pieces by Vivaldi, Mozart, Bach, Beethoven, and Brahms.
