Abstract

The covert status of counterterrorism and military campaigns makes a thorough assessment of the U.S. government’s use of unmanned aerial vehicles impossible. The lack of effective oversight, along with unchecked power concentrated in the executive branch, threaten human rights and individual freedoms at home and abroad.
