About Michelle Wormley

Michelle joined Sacred Heart University full-time in 2009 as a Clinical Physical Therapist with prior experience in acute and subacute rehabilitation settings. Since 2010, Michelle’s roles in the department have included Clinical Assistant Professor and Associate Director of Clinical Education, Assistant Professor, and was recently awarded promotion to Associate Professor (2020).  She is also the department's Director of Continuing Education, planning and executing continuing education courses for healthcare professionals in the community.  Dr. Wormley's teaching responsibilities include neuroanatomy and neurorehabilitation as well as examination and documentation of patients with medically complex diagnoses. Professor Wormley is the Vice-Chair of the APTA Academy of Research Section's Qualitative Research Special Interest Group (SIG) and has presented at the state and national level in topics of neurological rehabilitation, qualitative research methods, and the problem-based learning approach. In August (2020), Dr. Wormley was honored with the university's Teaching Excellence Award.

Specialist Certifications: Lymphedema Therapist, Casley-Smith Method; Jobst/Elvarex Certified Fitter; CPR certified.
