Learning in the workplace is dependent on a number of factors including organizational climate and culture, human resource development practices and participants' motivation to learn. The site selections below cover a range of perspectives on motivation and mainly draw on the fields of psychology and learning and have been ordered to move from the theoretical to the more applied. There is also a reference to situational explanations of motivation and social identities that relate to a sociological/cultural theory perspective. The author welcomes suggestions for other sites that explore issues of identity in the workplace and its relationship to learning.
