About Michael J Roy

After completing his Masters in Social Research (Policy Analysis) at Glasgow Caledonian University, Michael joined the Yunus Centre for Social Business and Health in the summer of 2011.
He is undertaking a PhD on the topic of social enterprise as a public health intervention, which will include developing a conceptual framework that outlines the causal pathways and mechanisms between social enterprise-led interventions and health and well-being. It will also involve a Systematic (Integrative) Review of social enterprise-led activity on health and well-being.
Michael is a former project and programme manager, social entrepreneur and – from over a decade working in the Scottish Government - policy specialist.
He has significant experience working with a wide range of groups in the Public and Third Sectors, including those involved in developing and supporting social enterprise in Scotland.
