Lisa Ede and Andrea Lunsford recently called, as they have done in the past, for reflective accounts of collaborative processes among writers.1 They don’t mean to encourage simple enthusiasms or mere narratives of experience – forms that often pass as reflection. What the field needs is interpretive work. We need work that will suggest terms and unlock expressions by which we may understand collaboration. Meaning is what we’re after.
