About Michael J. Hughes

I provide information literacy instruction and research consultations for the departments of history, communication, and philosophy. I also teach in Trinity's First-Year Experience, a series of writing-intensive seminars on topics of enduring cultural interest. I am currently serving a three-year appointment as FYE Coordinator, providing leadership, budgetary oversight, and administrative management of the FYE program, a signature element of the university's Pathways curriculum.

I've written for First Monday, the San Antonio Express-News, Portal: Libraries and the Academy, the Charleston Adviser, and VGMO: Video Game Music Online. My research interests include periodical print cultures, comics, media fandom, and video game history.
