Abstract

The article features philosopher, theologian and humanitarian Jean Vanier, who maintains a vision of service to marginalized people despite his old age. Also cited are Vanier's disappointment to the lack of support to the call by Catholic Church Pope Francis for the church to become a church for the poor and of the poor, Vanier's works to serve people with disabilities, and Vanier's life history, including his parents Georges and Pauline Vanier.
