I have been vice president for Academic Affairs and Dean of the Faculty and professor of English at Trinity University since July 1, 2000. I oversee Trinity University's academic programs as well as intercollegiate athletics, international programs, Trinity University Press, and admissions and financial aid. Prior to joining the Trinity administration, I was dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and professor of English at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. My research and teaching have focused on English romanticism, the history of ideas about literature and philosophy, and defenses of the humanities. At Trinity I have primarily taught courses for first-year students: HUMA (readings in Western culture) and two first-year seminars (one on Bob Dylan, the other on "pursuing love").
