About Michael S. Carriger

Dr. Michael Carriger received his D.Mgt. in Management from the University of Maryland University College. Prior to coming to Sacred Heart University he taught undergraduate and graduate level management and leadership courses as a visiting assistant professor at Gettysburg College and an adjunct faculty member at Trinity Washington University, Georgetown University, and the University of Maryland University College. He also designed, development, and implemented various leadership and management development programs as well as organizational development initiatives for a private enterprise in the communications industry sector. Teaching interests include leadership theory, organizational behavior, sustainability and innovation, and human resources as a strategic business partner. Research interests include leadership development, specifically leaders’ use of narrative as a leadership tool and leadership development among faculty in academia, as well as the transition from HR as an operation to HR as a strategic business partner.
