About Michael Van Hilst

Michael Van Hilst teaches a variety of classes at NSU, ranging from web and computer programming to systems engineering, and project management. He publishes articles on programming languages, software engineering, and computer security. Van Hilst has 20 years of industry experience working for HP Labs, IBM Research, NASA, Harvard University, and the French government. He is the interim chair of the Florida Chapter of the IEEE Education Society. He is currently working on accreditation and assessment matters for NSU’s College of Engineering and Computing.
