Abstract

The effects of panel preparation on corrosion testing, color measurement and abrasion testing are studied. the uniformity and thickness of the paint are critical controls and will affect the cure time, tensile strength and rate of water and oxygen permeation through the coating. Careful inspection of all panels must be made prior to their test exposure. Placing the plastic sheet on a grounded metal sheet for a few seconds before weighing will remove the charge and result in accurate readings.
