Abstract

Various problems associated with different coating technologies were discussed. Besides flash-rusting problem, waterborne coating technology are associated with other problems such as, decrease in performance of dry film due to addition of surfactants during application. Thus it is important to minimize the use of additives, to minimize the effect they have on overall performance of the dry film. It is suggested that thickners usually degrade the strength of the paint film.
