Abstract

The views expressed by Dr. Michael R.Van De Mark on various questions related to the problems encountered during coating, are presented. The queries included the effect of the choice of solvent to the pot life of waterborne epoxy coatings, and amines which will work to neutralize the acid in waterborne alkyd coating. Other queries were related to the measurement of temperature of solventborne coating while it dries, and hide differences between organic, inorganic pigments. Regarding temperature measurement infrared thermometer was suggested, and amines that are high boiling should be avoided in a waterborne alkyd coating.
