This paper presents the rationale for a classroom presentation of several of the seminal ideas of Alfred Schutz in a diagrammatic exploration of their further implications for sociological theory in general and the sociology of religion more specifically. It further demonstrates how visual representation can expand the explication of complex theoretical ideas and increase an understanding of the nested concepts endemic to the sociology of religion.
