OCCURRENCES OF GUADALUPE FUR SEALS (ARCTOCEPHALUS TOWNSENDI) ON THE WASHINGTON COAST OVER THE PAST 500 YEARS
Marine Mammal Science (2002)

Abstract
Hanni et al. (1997) reported sightings of fourteen Guadalupe fur seals (Arctocephalus townsendi), including eleven juveniles, along the central and northern coast California. The northward movement of these individuls was attributed to recent increases in population size of A. townsendi and, possibly, to the occurence of warmer coastal waters caused by El Nino events (Hanni et al. 1997)
