About Michael Allison

Professor Allison studied graduate economics at the University of Virginia with specializations in economic theory and public finance. His primary areas of interest are econometric theory and macroeconomics, and he regularly teaches courses in those areas. Professor Allison is the department’s Director of Undergraduate Studies as well as the Director of the Computer Laboratory for Quantitative Analysis and the Economic Resource Center. In 1996, he received the Lecturer of the Year Award in the College of Arts and Sciences. He was the recipient of the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence for a Non-tenure Track Faculty Member in September 2017.
