About Dr Markus Hagenbuchner

Dr Hagenbuchner studied Computer Science at the University of Ulm, Germany and received his Bachelor Degree in 1995. Dr Hagenbuchner continued his studies at the University of Wollongong and received a Bachelor (Hns) degree in Computer Science in 1998 and received his Ph.D. degree in Informatics in 2002.
In 2007 Dr Hagenbuchner commenced lecturing at the University of Wollongong and was appointed Senior Lecturer in 2009.
The main research activity of Dr Hagenbuchner is in the area of machine learning with special focus on unsupervised and supervised methods for the graph structured domain. His contribution to the development of a Self-Organizing Map for graphs has led to winning international competitions on document mining
Field of Study: Neural Networks, processing and classification of structural data, Internet applications, and data mining
Professional Activities and Affiliations:
• Reviewer of international standing for the Australian Research Council
• Program committee member for INEX since 2006.
