About Hou Meng

Since I received my Ph.D. Degree from the Law School of Peking University on June, 2004, I have been dedicated to legal studies and legal education.
When I was a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Sociology at Peking University, I taught Law and Anthropology together with Professor Zhu Xiaoyang. Currently, as an Associate Professor of the Law School of University of International Business and Economics, I have been teaching and doing research in the realm of law for more than four years and gained a good reputation in my field. And my research interests mainly lie in but not limited to the Chinese political and judicial system, law and economics. In addition, I am recently researching into the Chinese Petition System, which is a unique system in China, and Chinese legal education.
Apart from academic research and teaching, I am also involved in journal editing. Up to now, I have edited several journals, including the Journal of Chinese Social Sciences, Law and Social Sciences, International Business Law Review, etc.
