About Melissa Cast-Brede

Dr. Melissa Cast-Brede joined the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 2001 as the Education/Psychology Reference Librarian. Since 2005, she has also served as an Adjunct Instructor in the College of Education. Prior to joining UNO, Dr. Cast-Brede served as the Director of Member Services at the Association of College and Research Libraries of the American Library Association, as the Reference Librarian/Education Resource Coordinator at Northeastern State University, and as Reference/Library Instruction Librarian at the University of Central Oklahoma.
Dr. Cast-Brede earned a B.A. in American Studies from Grinnell College, a M.A. in Library and Informational Science from University of Missouri-Columbia, and a Ph.D. from the School of Library and Information Management. Her areas of expertise include library science, collection development, and copyright.
