Abstract
Education of nursing students on Electronic Medical Record (EMR) use is necessary for optimal progression into clinical practice. Proficiency in electronic documentation is an expectation as nursing student’s transition from student to new nurse. This research study asked the question, would using an EMR impact the quantity of student documentation as compared to paper documentation during a clinical simulation scenario. Incorporating an educational EMR within simulation improves the recording of clinical data, an essential skill for nursing students transitioning into practice.
