Master Lecturer, History
Melanie Storie is a native of Southwest Virginia and is an alumna of East Tennessee State University. In 2023, she graduated with honors from Liberty University with a Ph.D. in history. Through a lens of memory and regional history, her dissertation explores the complex nature of guerrilla warfare in the mountains of Southern Appalachia. Dr. Storie specializes in 19th-century American history, Civil War and Reconstruction, memory studies, military studies, and regional/local history. As a teacher and advisor, she is committed to sharing her passion for history and helping students achieve their academic and career goals.
