(2018)

Abstract
In response to a reference from the Irish Supreme Court, the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) has ruled that tribunals adjudicating on disputes concerning the implementation of EU law (in this case the Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) which is responsible for initial adjudication on disputes under, inter alia, the Employment Equality Acts) must apply EU law, if necessary disapplying provision of national law which are inconsistent with EU law.
