About Maureen Stobb

Maureen Stobb received her Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Texas at Dallas. She completed her B.A. in Political Science at the College of New Jersey, and obtained a J.D. from the University of Notre Dame. She was an intern at the fifth session of the Preparatory Commission for the International Criminal Court and at Amnesty International’s London office. She also practiced law for seven years, primarily as an immigration and asylum attorney. She teaches and researches in the area of public law.  Her primary areas of specialization are in constitutional law, immigration law, and international law. Her research interests focus on the implementation and impact of the law. She primarily studies the factors influencing judges in determining the applicable rules and standards to apply in each case, and how those rules and standards are interpreted by the lower courts. She also conducts cross-national/comparative studies of the implementation of legal standards.
