Abstract
A five-station sliding wear apparatus of the pin-on-disc type has been constructed and
evaluated for statistical reproducibility. The results, which are based on the wear of
polymeric materials, demonstrate that wear rates can be determined with a precision of 9.5%
at the 95% level of confidence.
