Maureen Ruby, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor Educational & Literacy Leadership in the Isabelle Farrington College of Education & Human Development at Sacred Heart University and was granted tenure by the SHU Board of Trustees March 17, 2023. Professor Ruby is also the Isabelle Farrington Endowed Chair of Social, Emotional & Academic Leadership. Maureen has several years experience as both an educator and administrator. In her role as educator, Maureen has taught at the elementary and middle school levels as both a classroom teacher and reading consultant. In higher education, she focused on graduate reading and special education. Maureen has served in the administrator capacity for three school districts in CT and was recently Assistant Superintendent of Brookfield Public Schools. Her scholarly publications focus on reading comprehension and instruction.
