Abstract
The article focuses on the history of social democracy in Vienna, Austria during the interwar period and how it influenced the politics of Vienna after 1945. The author compares the views of the political parties the Austrian Socialist Party (SPÖ) and the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP), discusses Austrian National Socialism and fascism, and examines the denazification that took place after 1945.
