About Matthew Leineweber

Dr. Matthew Leineweber is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomedical, Chemical, and Materials Engineering at San Jose State University. He holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University, with an emphasis in Biomechanical Engineering. Professor Leineweber research focuses primarily on evaluating human motion biomechanics, medical device design, rehabilitation engineering, medical imaging, and soft tissue mechanics. His work has examined topics ranging from the design optimization of a novel knee prosthesis for lower-limb amputees, to the use of ultrasound techniques for analyzing skeletal muscle injury. His courses at SJSU include Medical Imaging for Engineers and Numerical Methods in Biomedical Engineering.
