Mason E. Lowe is a graduate of Georgetown University Law Center. Before law school, he earned an M.A. in Philosophy from the University of Mississippi and a B.A. from Vanderbilt University.

After graduating from law school, Professor Lowe served as a law clerk for Judge Emmett Ripley Cox of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. He then joined the Jackson, Mississippi office of Bradley Arant Boult Cummings, where he was a member of the litigation, appellate, employment, and antitrust groups. While practicing law, he had extensive trial and appellate experience, trying cases in both federal and state courts and writing a number of successful briefs to the Fifth Circuit and various state and federal trial courts throughout Mississippi.

While practicing at Bradley Arant and prior to joining the faculty at William & Mary, Professor Lowe taught legal writing as an adjunct for five years at Mississippi College School of Law. Before graduate school, he was on the editorial staff of a national sports magazine, which solidified his love of sports, particularly (unfortunately for him) the Vanderbilt Commodores.
